We're Moving!

Remember a few weeks ago when I said I had big news?

Well. . .

We are moving into our new house this week! Woohoo!

In case you're wondering if apartment living with two little ones is easy, let me assure you it is not! I have a whole new appreciation for space (and the blissful gift of letting your children run/jump/be loud in the house).

So, we (and when I say "we," I mean the hubbs and I) are somehow going to move our entire apartment, and THREE full storage units into our house. . . with our children tagging along somewhere in the background. Oh, and did I mention my husband only has one day off?

Yeah, I'm not sure how we're going to pull it off, either. (Probably with a few spats, raised voices, sweat and tears, and scrapes and bruises)

I love our new house! It's on a beautiful street, it's zoned for a great school, and it's in my favorite part of town.

So, in the midst of MDO, preschool, Bible study, church, swim lessons, new friends, and new places, we are going to move! Wish us good luck (please, please, pretty please)!

The First Day of School

Wednesday was a big day for my boys!

Look at my precious babies! The toddler was very excited to get to preschool. After our tour, our in-school teacher visit, and then back-to-school night, he was READY. He even let me take some pictures (a big deal for this toddler).

How cute is my big, grown-up, Mr. Independent three year old!? I asked him some questions as he was eating his Cheerio's and watching Curious George.

1. Are you excited for preschool? "YES!"
2. What do you want to be when you grow up? "A firefighter."
3. What is your favorite animal? "Bats." [Side note: he IS going to be a bat for Halloween. He's obsessed--every time we go to the library, he insists on getting books about bats]
4. What is your favorite color? "Red."
5. Who is your best friend? "Jack."

Speaking of whom, look at my little chunky monkey before his very first day of MDO. . .

I could just eat.him.up!!

Okay, so now for some adorable sibling photos. And yes, it is kind of funny that despite the fact that there is exactly two-and-a-half years between these two, the baby is only 7 pounds lighter and 6 inches shorter.

I made these cute gifts for the boys' teachers:

We were so excited when we walked into school. All the children were running around, parents were anxiously looking for classrooms and saying goodbye to their babies, and there was the general atmosphere of the excitement of the first day of school.

I did not get a picture of the toddler (I know, bad mommy!). We walked into his classroom, and he hung up his backpack in his cubby, set his water bottle down, and darted off. Darted. Bolted. I was thrilled! He ran straight for the art table and pulled out the scissors and construction paper.

"Bye!" I shouted to him, waving.

"Bye, Mom!" he shouted back, and quickly returned his focus to the scissors.

And I walked out. I got in the car. I teared up just a little bit when I called my momma. But overall, it was really nice to have those hours to myself. I got to clean the apartment (which we will only be living in for 2 more weeks!), get a ton of work done, and be ALONE for the first time in. . .

uh. . .

forever.

I'm so glad that I selected this school. I love it! It's beautiful, it's old, it's just picturesque. This is an exciting new stage for the toddler--preschool, that is. The class calendar, the tasks, the "homework," new friends. It's awesome!

The first day could not have gone better! :)
