Nathan's 8th Birthday

As we were in-between moving from Roanoke to Houston, we celebrated Nathan's 8th birthday in Little Rock! We had such a fun time!

Residency Graduation Ceremony

Boy oh boy, am I playing "catch up!"


SO. Back in June, something BIG happened--Scott completed his general surgery residency! WHEW!

Nathan drove down from Pennsylvania, Mom flew up from Arkansas, and Scott's parents flew up from Texas. It was such a special evening, recognizing the enormous accomplishment that we've completed residency! (I say "we've" because it's most definitely BOTH of us, people!!)

It meant the world to Scott and I to share the evening with our families.

Scott gave hands-down the best speech! It was so moving and heartfelt. I was flooded with countless memories of our years in Roanoke--good memories and hard memories. It was a long five years, and that's just the truth.

So, way to go, Scott! I'm super proud of you--your biggest cheerleader! XOXO, babe!

Our Last Week in Roanoke

I'm pausing to reflect back on our time in Roanoke, and I will say with certainty it was two things: hard and good.


Our last week was full of playdates, hugs, laughter, dinners with friends--a veritable illustration of little memories and precious individuals who have made up our time in Virginia.

Tee Ball

This spring, I signed Nathan and Jack up for tee ball, through the YMCA. Very laid back, very "just for fun," and perfect for where we are in our completely crazy life right now.

The boys have really enjoyed it! Today was their last tee ball game, and they both got a trophy. They are so excited!

Henry is such a little trooper. He doesn't wander, doesn't fuss--he just collects rocks and grass, and gives Mama kisses. I'll keep him! :)

Today, the temperature was 82 and I felt terrible. It makes my stomach drop to think of the 102 temps I'll soon have to get used to at sporting events. Lord help.

Yay for a sweet tee ball season with my favorite boys!

This And That

Haircut time with Mrs. Andrea! It was the first time Henry sat in the chair by himself {his third haircut}.

Jack's books that he made! One is on Mt. Everest and K2, and the other one is about Egypt.
