You will need for the topping:
- 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup of light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
- 3 tbsp. of unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
You will need for the apple mixture:
- 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
- 3 tbsp. of unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp. of all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
- 3 tbsp. of buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the topping. Refrigerate.
3. Peel and slice your Granny Smith apples. It should resemble this:
4. In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the apple mixture {except for the apples!}. It should resemble this:
5. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with the apple mixture.
6. In a lightly-greased 8X8 dish, spread the apples out evenly. Top with prepared topping. It should resemble this:
7. Bake at 375 for c. 35 minutes. Enjoy!
