A Quick Stop In Nashville

Nashville is a good "half way point" between Roanoke and Little Rock. So, as this week is Scott's vacation--and what was supposed to be mine {story to follow}--we decided to get a hotel room and stay the night in Nashville and break that long drive up.

We only had a morning to spend there, and it.was.freezing. when we woke up. Thirty-seven degrees! Hello! I pretty much packed hoodies for us and we needed serious jackets.

Our first stop was for breakfast at Biscuit Love. Such a cool restaurant! And Nathan told me, "Mom, this is the best bacon I've ever had in my whole life. It's even better than your bacon." I personally felt like the biscuits were waaaaaay too salty--like so salty that I couldn't even eat half of mine. And the bacon was salty, too! I felt like I had a kidney stone by the time we left.

We then drove by Vanderbilt Medical Center and down Music Row. And we had ambitious plans for seeing the Parthenon. I literally cannot put into words how miserably cold we were!

Scott said that his favorite part was when we were in the Parthenon, in front of the huge statue of Athena, and all of a sudden we hear Hot Wheels racing across the marble floors. The boys decided that they had finally found the perfect place to race their cars. Momma put a stop to that, but we did get a good laugh!

I'm hoping that this isn't the most miserable vacation ever. Why? Because I'm in bed with the flu, working on grants and proposals. {That is, NOT taking a vacation.} I've never had the flu before, and it is not fun!

I hope I'm feeling better soon! I want so badly to get out and go have fun with my guys!
