Awana Awards Night

This past Sunday evening was Awards Night at Awana. Nathan has worked so hard all year, and he was very much looking forward to this special evening!

They called each child up, one at a time, and all the parents clapped and the teachers said something sweet. For Nathan, they said, "Nathan always knows his verses. He doesn't even need us to give him the first word!"

Nathan was one of five boys in his class to receive the highest award for Cubbies. He finished his entire book this year and memorized and recited twenty-six Bible verses. That's a lot for a five year old!

I was so proud of him, and I could tell he was very proud of his hard work. He has been diligent every week this school year to work on Awana verses.

The teachers had a funfetti cake for the kiddos {and their parents}. Jack, of course, had to sit up at the table with the other Cubbies and get a piece!

Then all the Cubbies and their leaders sang a song. It was so sweet!

Nathan James, I just adore you more than words can ever say! You are hardworking and persistent. You don't take "no" for an answer {sometimes that drives me crazy}, and I know you will go so far! More than anything, your heart for the Lord and his holy word is so evident to me as your Mama. Your sincerity of faith and your desire to do what is right fill my heart will pure joy. Jesus, thank you for this boy! What a blessing he is!
