Last Autumn In Virginia

Well, autumn is certainly here. And my two maples in the front yard are exploding with their glorious, God-given colors. See that little red-leafed maple on the right? I planted that four years ago, our first fall season in this house.

This house has held so many wonderful, happy memories. It's odd--of course, I knew we were going to live in Virginia for five years. But now that the five years is quickly approaching the finish line, I suddenly feel nostalgic for our years here. And I'm equally daunted at the task of starting all over again.

Nonetheless, we're soaking up our time here in Roanoke, and we are most definitely thrilled to be moving much closer to family. I will just never forget what it has been like to experience autumn year after year in the Blue Ridge Mountains. What a breathtaking treat.
